3rd Grade

Week 3

4/13-4/20

Hello Everyone! I hope you folks had a great weekend and all is going well.

It's time to practice our keyboarding this week. To do so please do the following:

  1. Go to Google.com

  2. Do a search for "Dance Mat Typing" and click Enter

  3. After your results are shown please click on the link that says "Dance Mat Typing - BBC Bitesize"

  4. Students should start on Level 1.

    1. I know we covered this level in class but it's been a while since we worked on our home row keys. A little extra practice is good for you!

  5. Students should know where and how their fingers sit on the keys. One pointer finger on the 'F' and one pointer finger on the 'J'. The rest of the fingers just line up on the middle row of keys and the thumbs gently rest on the spacebar.

  6. PLEASE have something to cover up the fingers on the keyboard. This can include a paper towel, and regular towel, etc. Once the habit to look at fingers while typing has been established, it's extremely hard to break!

  7. Students should practice for approximately 25 minutes.

  8. Do 25 minutes of typing practice TWO times this week!

Have a great week!
