A short poem about losing a watch at the seaside, in the style of Spike Milligan.
I went to the seaside for some fun,
With my trusty watch, under the sun,
But the waves were rough, the tide was high,
And my watch slipped off, and said goodbye.
I searched the sand, I searched the sea,
But my watch was gone, it wasn't meant to be,
Now I'm left with nothing but regret,
And the memory of the time that we met.
Oh, watch, dear watch, where did you go?
Did you join the fishes, down below?
Or did you wash up on some distant shore,
Never to tick, never to keep score?
I'll miss your face, your steady tick,
But I'll remember our time, oh so quick,
Farewell, dear watch, you'll be missed,
But the memories we shared will persist.
