The White Claws, founded by James Jackson, are a storied and deeply rooted pack of shifters in Savannah, known for their conservative values and strong sense of tradition. Many White Claw families trace their lineage back to early colonial times, blending seamlessly into the city’s old Southern aristocracy. While they primarily consist of wolf shifters, they include members of other powerful animal forms, and they hold a strict belief that Savannah is their territory to guard and protect, seeing themselves as the original defenders of the land and its people. This entitlement creates friction with other groups, particularly the Bohem/Newcomers and the Chimera Pack, whose more progressive, inclusive ideals they view as undermining the natural order and diluting their legacy.
The White Claws have a complex and often tense relationship with the Native American shifters of the Keepers of the River. While the two groups have long coexisted in the same region, the White Claws’ territoriality has often clashed with the Keepers’ role as spiritual guardians, leading to disputes over ancient boundaries and sacred spaces. While they share a mutual respect as shifters, the Keepers view the White Claws’ dominance with suspicion, perceiving it as a threat to the balance they strive to maintain with the land and its spirits.
Similarly, the White Claws maintain a distant and often distrustful stance toward the vampires of Savannah. While Founder Vampires share certain values, like a respect for old Southern culture, the White Claws are wary of their ties to death and their hunger for control. Vampires, to the White Claws, represent an unnatural affront to the natural cycle of life and death, creating tension despite occasional alliances.
The White Claws’ rigid adherence to hierarchy and purity means they view themselves as guardians of Savannah’s supernatural realm, an attitude that has often led to tensions with Witches and Freemasons. Although they hold Freemasons in high regard for their structured, intellectual approach to magic, they remain suspicious of their arcane symbols and rituals, seeing them as intrusive to the natural forces shifters revere. With witches they are somewhat more accepting, as long as these witches honor the land’s history and traditions.
The pack’s code is steeped in Southern values, with members taking pride in the history and legacy of the region. They champion loyalty, respect for the hierarchy, and the protection of their own above all else, with an unyielding belief that the land belongs to them by birthright. This ethos has led them to resist change, and they often act as a conservative force within Savannah’s supernatural community.
The White Claws are deeply rooted in Savannah’s riverfront, working districts, and long established territorial networks. Their influence comes through generations of presence rather than formal ownership.

The White Claws are a traditional Pack built upon family, loyalty, duty, and strength. They believe that every member is part of something greater than themselves and that the Pack endures because each generation accepts the responsibility of protecting those who came before and those who will follow.
Leadership is earned through courage, service, and unwavering commitment to the Pack. While hierarchy provides order, the White Claws understand that true strength comes from trust, shared sacrifice, and the bonds of family. Every member has a place, every voice carries responsibility, and every victory belongs to the Pack as a whole.
The White Claws believe that a Pack is only as strong as the bonds between its members. Loyalty is not demanded but earned through shared hardship, mutual trust, and the willingness to place the needs of the family before one’s own. Tradition provides identity, discipline provides strength, and sacrifice ensures that future generations inherit a Pack worth protecting.
They understand that every generation stands upon the shoulders of those who came before. By honoring their ancestors, defending their territory, and caring for one another as family, they preserve the roots from which the Pack draws its strength.
“Without roots, the Pack loses itself.”
The Alpha Prime is the leader of the White Claws and the voice of the Pack within the Crescent Accord. Chosen through the Rite of Challenge, the Alpha bears the responsibility of protecting the Pack, defending its territory, preserving its traditions, and ensuring the welfare of every White Claw. They lead through courage, presence, and personal example, earning respect through service rather than privilege.
Founder of the White Claws and first Alpha Prime
The Claw Council is composed of the Pack’s most respected elders and advisors. Drawing upon decades of experience, they counsel the Alpha Prime, preserve White Claw traditions, mentor future leaders, and ensure that every major decision reflects the Pack’s values. Should an Alpha fail in their duties, the Council alone may call for a Rite of Challenge.

BJORN VIZLA (Neziti)
Keeper of memory and sacred tradition
The Bloodspeaker preserves the spiritual heart of the White Claws by conducting funerals, remembrance ceremonies, challenge rites, seasonal observances, and ancestral traditions. They remind the Pack that every generation stands upon the sacrifices of those who came before.
Steward of the Pack’s home
The Keeper of the Den nurtures the social heart of the White Claws. They welcome newcomers, organize Pack gatherings, care for members during times of hardship, and strengthen the bonds that make the White Claws a family. Whether through celebrations, shared meals, or quiet acts of compassion, they ensure that no member ever stands alone. They manage the Moon River Brewery and Pub
Master of discipline and martial tradition
The Clawmaster oversees the Pack’s training, evaluating combat ability, organizing sparring, teaching survival skills, and preparing members for the responsibilities that come with protecting the Pack. They ensure every White Claw possesses the strength and discipline to answer the Alpha’s call.
Master of the Hunt
The Huntmaster leads the White Claws whenever the Pack must venture into danger. They organize hunts, Blood Hunts, expeditions, and defensive operations while coordinating the Pathfinders and preparing Pack members for conflict. The Huntmaster teaches that discipline and preparation are the foundations of survival.
Commander of the Wardens
The Chief Warden oversees the Pack’s protectors, coordinating patrols, investigations, and responses to threats both within and beyond White Claw territory. They ensure the safety of Pack members, businesses, allies, and sacred places while maintaining order through vigilance and discipline
Guardians of the Pack
Wardens defend White Claw territory, investigate disturbances, escort vulnerable members, and respond whenever the Pack’s security is threatened. They are the first line of defense against dangers both mundane and supernatural, protecting the family with quiet strength and unwavering loyalty.
Full Members
The Blooded are full members of the White Claws who have completed the Howling Rite and earned the right to bear the Pack’s name. Every Blooded is expected to uphold the traditions of the Pack, defend its people, answer the Alpha’s call, and contribute to the strength of the family. Those who distinguish themselves through loyalty, service, and sacrifice may be entrusted with one of the Pack’s Offices.
Prospects
Prospects are not full members of the pack, they are the unproven, the outsiders seeking blood-right and recognition. These would be those who are born with legacy in the city (the children of the founders). A Prospect is someone who must earn the brand of the White Claws through grueling loyalty, trials, and submission to the pack’s way.
Whether born into the Pack or arriving from elsewhere, every Prospect must prove their loyalty, courage, and commitment before being sponsored by an Oldfang and completing the Howling Rite. They are taught that becoming a White Claw is not simply joining a Pack—it is becoming part of a family.
They are expected to:
Follow orders without question.
Perform grunt work: guarding territory, running errands, cleaning up messes, both literal and supernatural.
Fight when told, bleed if needed, and never step ahead of their station.
Attend all pack gatherings, rites, and hunts, but only speak when spoken to.
Respect is not granted to Prospects, even if they come with reputation or strength. Within the White Claws, titles mean nothing, only the pack decides your worth.
Prospects must prove three core traits before elevation:
Loyalty , Tested through pain, temptation, and sacrifice. The pack will try to break you.
Strength , Not just physical, but the ability to stand up when the world beats you down.
Instinct , Knowing when to fight, when to fall back, when to follow the Alpha, and when to protect the pack at all costs.
These are tested through:
The Blood Hunt (tracking and subduing a supernatural threat or traitor)
The Howling Rite (a test of pain, fear, and obedience in front of the pack)
The Chainwalk (a physical and spiritual endurance trial that must be completed alone)
Failure isn’t fatal… usually. But cowardice or betrayal is.
If a Prospect survives long enough to be seen as loyal and useful, a full-blooded White Claw may choose to sponsor them. This member takes responsibility for their final trial, their behavior, and their elevation. If the Prospect is accepted, they undergo The Howling Rite, a spiritual and physical induction under the full moon.
From there, they are considered White Claws, given a new name by the Alpha or Elders, often reflecting how they earned their place.
Some Prospects burn out. Others are quietly removed. A few run, none are forgotten. White Claws do not tolerate oath breakers. To fail honorably is one thing; to abandon the pack is another.
The White Claws are a territorial, hard-edged shifter pack, descendants of the South’s founding families who have long ruled the docks, alleys, and outer edges of Savannah’s supernatural world. They are known for their aggression, pride, and strict adherence to the law of strength and dominance.
To a White Claw, power is not given, it is earned, bared through teeth and claw, voice and presence. Their society values resilience, brute force, and cunning instincts. They are a pack in the truest sense: tightly bound, brutally honest, and unafraid to fight for their place in the hierarchy.
Leadership among the White Claws is not democratic. The Alpha rises through dominance not just in battle, but in presence, cunning, and command. They must embody the fury and survival instinct of the pack, leading by action and instinct, not by decree.
To become Alpha, a challenger must issue a formal Rite of Challenge, a public declaration witnessed by at least three elders or warriors. Once issued, the current Alpha cannot refuse, backing down is seen as submission and results in immediate loss of leadership.
No weapons beyond claws and teeth.
No magic.
No killing. (Though accidents happen.)
The combat ends only when one yields, is incapacitated, or is clearly outmatched.
An Alpha who loses the challenge is not exiled. Instead, they are expected to slip back into the ranks with humility, a hard but honorable return. If they survive the disgrace and show wisdom, they may take on the role of Advisor, Elder, or Trainer of the young, guiding the pack with battle-won knowledge. They are forbidden from issuing the Rite of Challenge against the new alpha.
But not all former Alphas stay. Some become lone wolves. Others brood in the shadows. A few plot a return… or worse, revenge.
Dominant Presence: Commands with presence alone, respected, feared, or both.
Strategic Mind: Not just a fighter, but a survivor. Knows the flow of the hunt, the cracks in a wall, and when to pounce.
Pack Loyalty: Understands the White Claws are strongest when united, turning ferocity inward weakens all.
Brutal Honesty: Lies and cowardice are death in this culture. Truth cuts cleaner than claws.
An accord between the three packs to prevent infighting over resources and territory while preserving secrecy.
