Turner County Banner began publication on December 29, 1905 and continued until December 27, 1912. Published by the Banner Publishing Company. In the 1910, it was described as democratic and the editor was S.B. Hudson (Ayer, 1912, p. 176). 1913 Ayer lists the publisher as A.B. Pierce.
Wiregrass Farmer and Stockman was established March 1902. In 1906 the publisher was J. Lawrence. It is the legal organ for the county.

County seat of Turner County.
In the 1913 Ayer, it describes Ashburn as having a population of 2,214; "Gulf Line R'y, Ga S'thrn & Fla RR, Tel, Exp, Bank, Saw mills and naval stores."
