According to Rowell, 1885, established in 1883. Editor: W.E. Mumford. Last issue December 24, 1895.
In 1895, it merged with West Georgia news (Talbotton, Ga.), to form Talbotton new era and west Georgia news which ceased on December 29, 1896.
Published as New Era from Jan. 5, 1897 - Feb. 9, 1900 by R,N.R. Bardwell and renamed Talbotton New Era in 1900.
