Terry Deary was born on January 3, 1946, and is now 75 years old. He was born in Sunderland, England. He studied at East Point Academy and at the University of Sunderland. He began writing Horrible Histories in 1976. The series became a success. It was soon turned into a TV show in 2002. Sadly, he retired from writing in 2011 after 35 years of writing.
