One fine day, both his parents went out, and he was left alone with his granny. She was to be given medicine every day. George set off to make a medicine of his own. After the mind-boggling effect it had on his granny, neither he nor the reader could guess what was coming next.

Roald Dahl hooks his readers onto his words, making them sit on the tip of their seats. Did you notice that in many of his books, the children always win? It turns out that he wrote using his experience in the boarding schools he attended as a child. When I read his books, there’s always a smile on my face. When my mother reads his book to my sisters, they always beg for another chapter.
