Mildred and her best friend Maud are…? You guessed it! They are witches. They went to study to become witches at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches. The name Miss Cackle may sound harsh but her personality was completely the opposite. The headmistress was soft on her students and mostly did not act like your super strict principal at school. Instead, Miss Hardbroom usually was the unofficial headmistress, taking good care of everything. Miss Hardbroom was also the form mistress of Mildred’s class in the first of her five years at Miss Cackle’s Academy for Witches. Mildred was one of those people who always went wrong one way or another, somehow. Maud loyally stayed with Mildred, whatever the condition. Ethel, a bullying classmate, was the kind of person who was the exact opposite of Mildred. She always got everything right. It wasn’t uncommon for the two warring classmates to cast spells on each other. Even though Mildred was a complete failure in potions and spells, her sense of adventure and instinct always helped her recover her reputation.
