Fantastic Mr Fox

Fantastic Mr. Fox is not just an exaggeration. He really is fantastic. Fantastic Mr. Fox, his wife, and his four little cubs eat their dinner stealing from three farmers Boggis, Bunce, and Bean. These farmers, although enraged, aren’t able to catch the sneaky Mr. Fox. But, one day, the situation changes. The three farmers find the hole and try to dig out the foxes using mechanical shovels and bulldozers but still aren’t able to catch the fast foxes. They decide to let them starve underground and post sentries all around the hill. But after more than three days, the foxes still haven’t come out and are feasting with joy while the three farmers are waiting for them outside the foxes’ hole day in and day out for them to come out. Would you like to know how they did it?

This story is an exotic experience for young children or beginner readers. As always, my mother enjoyed this story, making it safe-to-read for adults. When you read this book, you feel as if you are actually standing there, watching them do all that stuff. Dahl writes—

Boggis, Bunce, and Bean

One fat, one short, one lean

These horrible crooks

So different in looks

Were nonetheless equally mean

I liked this poem a lot. This is a book everyone must read at least once. Yes, that is exactly what you should do.
