Mr. Stink

It is a Sunday, and you have been playing outside with your friends since morning. You return at around 6 pm, and as soon as your mother sees you, she wrinkles her nose at you. You look down at yourself and see sweat slowly oozing down your body, and your clothes are caked in dust and mud. You feel really stinky. I beg to differ. Ask Chloe Crumb. After she got acquainted with Mr. Stink, she has realized much more than the fact that he was truly stinky. Chloe is fond of stories. She enjoys imagining stories about how Mr. Stink came to be in their quaint little town since the day he arrived. After weeks of planning, she plucked up the courage to talk to Mr. Stink (your mother would be rather mad at you for talking to a tramp, wouldn’t she?). Chloe’s family isn’t just any other. Her mother isn’t just any ordinary. She likes living a posh life, though she isn’t from an affluent background. Chloe’s younger sister, Annabelle, is a backbiting little girl, a favorite of her mother’s. Annabelle and Chloe seriously hate each other. The only person who is normal in the family other than Chloe is her dad. Chloe’s dad is a big and powerful man but is intimidated by his posh wife. Mrs. Crumb wants her younger daughter to be an expert in everything. For Annabelle, her whole week is drowned in a very busy timetable. It would sap all of your energy to just look at it!

The story revolves around Chloe and Mr. Stink. What Chloe doesn’t know is that talking to Mr. Stink will change her life forever. This is another one of David Williams’ masterpieces. This story is well thought out and gives the reader something to think hard about by the time the book ends. It is very entertaining, especially for children. It will be a smashing read for kids of all ages.
