My mom bought this book for me quite a long time ago. You can see how battered the cover is, but the pages inside are spotlessly clean. This book is by Rob Lloyd Jones and illustrated by Barry Ablett. His book is quite detailed, especially the pictures. There are only fourteen pages. The reason why this book is fat is because the pages are really thick. The first page is Ancient Egypt. The thing I love most about this book is that it has flaps that can be opened. This makes me want to read it whenever I’m bored. Everything is explained rather clearly, and the pictures help convey the message better. For example, on this page is a city of Ancient Greece. Another thing I love about this book is the way it depicts what a normal city would have looked like at that time. The illustrations are very useful, but some of them are just a teensy bit creepy. This book covers 7 ancient cities. The last page has some pictures of ancient wonders and the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. I can name them all, all thanks to this book. Oh, so you don’t believe me? Ok, here it goes: the great pyramids of Giza, the hanging gardens of Babylon, statue of Zeus, tomb of king mausolus, the Colossus of Rhodes, the lighthouse of Alexandria, and the temple of Artemis. See, this book is really helpful! Happy reading!
