Asterix and the Goths

This time at the druid’s conference at the Forest of Carnutes (see Asterix and the Golden Sickle for more details), Getafix is elected Druid of the Year (thanks to his potion that gives the drinker superhuman strength. The whole of Asterix’s village depends upon it). But, did you know that there are bad things about winning, too? Nobody knows, but the Goths are around, and they are taking a sneak peek in the druids’ annual meeting, which is supposed to be only for the druids. The Goths want to take the most talented druid to their king. Asterix seems to sense this, and he and Obelix accompany Getafix to the conference. But soon enough, they realize that Getafix is not around and conclude that he has been captured. So, they set out to get their druid back. On their way back, Getafix, Asterix, and Obelix make sure that the Goths stay at bay for a long, long time.

Asterix and Obelix’s fun will never end, so long as someone keeps writing the books. This book practically has ‘fun’ written all over it. It will bring you to tears of laughter by the end of the book. My mom got a big set of these books from her father when she was a kid. She says that she must have read the set over a hundred times!
