Dr. Malcolm Brown, now retired and working as a freelance consultant, was the director of EDUCAUSE, one of the leading nonprofit organizations that promotes the effective integration of technology and data in higher education for 13 years. Before his work with EDUCAUSE, he was the Director of Academic Computing at Dartmouth College. As director, he published articles through the EDUCAUSE website over a wide variety of EdTech-related topics and oversaw projects such as the “7 Things You Should Know About” publication and the Transforming Higher Ed blog among other tasks through the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative. He received his PhD in German Studies from Stanford University in 1985.
