Athletic Director Update - Special Olympics was held last weekend and high school boys and girls basketball teams volunteered to help ref and run the clocks. The feedback on the students and the event was very positive. Still looking for a Golf Coach for the 2026 Spring season. Working on the JV softball schedule to fill gaps where they can. There will not be a JV Baseball team. Hudl streaming is free still again for next year for Packerland conference, but there will be a fee for WIAA post season games. Ben is looking at sponsorship advertising opportunities to offset the cost of Hudl. Hudl cameras were added for baseball and softball fields. Scoreboard sponsors will be reviewed for next year since our current contract will be up. WIAA is asking teams to use Gamechanger for baseball and softball as well.
Grant Requests - Nathan Alberts from Boys Baseball requesting a new pitching machine. The current pitching machine no longer works and is past the warranty date. They are asking for $1500. The cost of the machine is approximately $2995 or $3200 with a battery pack. Much of the budget last year went to new uniforms. The youth programs will also be able to use it in the turf facility. Will be easier on the players and coaches arms. They will do fundraising once the season starts to replenish their funds and cover other costs during the season.
This request was approved. Tina will send a check to the school for $1500 and Nathan will submit a PO to school for the pitching machine.
Concessions - Only a few more spots to fill for the winter season and track meets. Last event is the Talon Tussle middle school wrestling on March 10th. Baseball and softball has gone to doubleheaders for conference play so we will need to plan for two games for staffing and supplying the concession stand. We will have a player parent from softball and baseball create a schedule to fill those slots. Easier to manage since parents can work the stand and watch the game at the same time.
