PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

I. The definition of present continuous ( Định nghĩa)

Present continuous tense describes events or actions that happened at the moment of speaking or around the time of speaking, that event and action have not ended and continue to happen up to the present time.

II. The formula for the present continuous (Cấu trúc thì hiện tại tiếp diễn)

The present continuous tense formula is divided into 3 types of affirmative, negative, and interrogative as follows:

FORM:

- Affirmative: S + tobe + V-ing

E.g: Hoa is watching TV now/ My friend is listening to music

- Negative: S + tobe + V-ing

E.g: Tam isn’t studying English now/ It isn’t raining

- Interrogative:

(1) Tobe + S + V-ing?

(2) Wh- + tobe (not) + S + V-ing?

E.g: Is she going out with her boyfriend?/ What is he doing right now?
