Talya has over 17 years of experience performing in environmental compliance, monitoring and analysis, H.S.E. and Waste system approaches, grant and proposal writing, capacity building and training, as well as project design and management to promote sustainable climate-smart action.
Talya is currently the Director of Ideas I Foundation, a T&Tl social enterprise focused on youth and community development and empowerment; as well as technical consulting on sustainable waste management and operationalization to support the sustained recovery of recyclables and CSR and ESG policing and compliance for the private sector. . Her work in recent years includes project management and training facilitation and supporting grant funding applications for NGOs and CBOs. She has also contributed to local NGO consortium projects with CANARI and the Cropper Foundation on building capacity of civil society groups. SHe was instrumental in implementation of the Caribbean Tree Planting Project (CTPP) , the flagship project of Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance working with the Bridge Foundation as national project lead for T&T in 2000 with an umbrella of environmental CSOs and experts in Trinidad and Tobago called PlantYuhROOTS. With 1.5 Million Trees planted to date around the Caribbean by CTPP, she also worked to host 2 CTPP Caribbean Tree Planting Week Conferences and has since gone on to support The Alliance as Regional Project Coordinator.
