Sean C. McCoon is an active civil society, environmental and youth empowerment advocate from the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. His base is on the beautiful but smaller of the two islands, Tobago, where he serves as a director in the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme (TRWRP) a state run not for profit agency, which is focussed on developing and conserving green spaces across the island of Tobago. Additionally Sean serves in the capacity of Protocol and Foreign Relations Officer attached to the office of the Secretary of the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation in the Tobago House of Assembly.
Sean wears several other hats including the current Public Relations Officer for Environment Tobago, a 27 year old Tobago based NGO which focuses on environmental awareness, advocacy and education. Added to this, Sean is a member of the Tobago writer’s guild and a contributor to the Cari-Bois environmental news network.
Music plays an important role in Sean’s life and he is also a concert pianist, who plays the keyboard with several local bands out of Trinidad and Tobago and is the musical director for the Soul Rebels, an outfit which includes the legendary Sheldon Blackman, son of the late great “Ras Shorty I” the inventor and pioneer of Soca music. Sean also enjoys volunteerism and was registered as the first national United Nations Volunteer (NUNV) on introduction of the programme in Trinidad and TObago through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
