Vibrant, proficient, innovative, and self-motivated are just a few ways to describe this ambitious Son of the Red Hills Community, picturesquely located on the northern skirts of the parish of St. Andrew in Jamaica. Dwayne Gutzmer holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computing and Information Technology from the University of Technology, Jamaica, a Masters in Business Administration with special focus in Finance from the University of Wales, UK and a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Science from the Emeritus Institute of Management.
His passion and commitment to the development of sound community partnerships and youth advancement has thrust him to numerous leadership positions ranging from President of Junior Chamber International, Jamaica to Dean of the CARICOM Youth Ambassador Programme. Dwayne’s early introduction to the ‘work world’ quickly gave him an appreciation for the importance of preparation, diligent work and focus which provided him stepping stones to earning his current position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), at the Institute of Law & Economics (ILE) with direct responsibilities for the Business Entrepreneurial Empowerment Programme (BEEP) & the DIA Urban Lab for Youth Innovation Project.
Known for his leadership abilities in team building, multi-tasking, innovative approaches and adaptability, Dwayne is equally as jovial, supportive and family-oriented and balances his active professional and volunteer-based pursuits with a more relaxed social life. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, watching comedy, engaging small gatherings of friends or family enriched by food, music and constructive social banter.
Dwayne Gutzmer is a life long learner as he aims to make a significant contribution to the advancement of Entrepreneurship and Business Development in Jamaica, especially among young people.
Dwayne is guided by the mantra “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13.
