Anthea McLaughlin is a multidisciplinary practitioner, and she works to ensure systems work together for people and for institutions to optimize governance, planning and leadership frameworks to develop pathways for empowerment & transformation.
With extensive experience garnered in New York City, where she co-led the city-wide public-private partnership "Agenda for Children Tomorrow" with the Administration for Children’s Services for over seventeen years, Anthea championed service integration across child welfare, education, mental health, juvenile justice, early childhood education, and youth development.
As the founding member and Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance, she has played a pivotal role in establishing a regional network that successfully planted 1.5 million trees and organized forums focused on "Partnerships for Climate Action, Mitigation, and Adaptation" to achieve targeted (SDGs). Currently, she is positioning the Alliance as the central hub for philanthropy in the Caribbean, fostering collaboration among funders, non- governmental organizations, and stakeholders.
Anthea, under the auspices of Bridge Foundation and Bridge Partners and Associates, designs funded programs for NGO implementation, with a focus on community-based literacy, promoting SDGs in schools, encouraging collaboration among environmental non-governmental organizations, and fostering youth environmental stewardship, mentorship, and Agri-entrepreneurship – funded respectively by UNDP GEF SGP, Shell and US Embassy of Port of Spain.
In 2023, Anthea provided consultation and training in change management strategies for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) - Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDS), Women, and Underrepresented Groups.
Dedicated to creating transformative experiences, she collaborated with a United Kingdom/United States team to design future-proof and transversal skills curricula for international college graduates.
Anthea has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Hunter Graduate School of Social Work and holds master’s degrees in Public Administration & International Affairs and Social Work from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work, respectively. Additionally, she holds a Community Mediation Certificate from the University of West Indies.
