27 Points in Space

This exercise helps orient you to all the 27 different directions your flag can be pointing.

After mastering this exercise, you will be familiar with the positions when learning your choreography for your shows.

Standing in second position turned out, notice there are nine different directions your flag will point to.

Within those nine directions you can point your three ways:

flag angled up, then flag flat and parallel to the floor, then flag angled down.

Nine multiplied by three is 27, which is where you get your 27 Points in Space.

This video above breaks down the exercise the way this advanced Winter Guard performs it.

You may find variations in which count you switch your hands over. This guard switches on count 18.
