Nocturne
By Xen Cormier
Like silver ribbons dancing, the moon’s reflection in the dark water is as bright as the stars themselves.
Creatures lurk in the shadows of night, said shadows a veil of mystery, protecting, enshrouding all around us like a looming abyss. Some find comfort in this deep abyss. Nocturnal beings howling out, the sounds echoing like a cold wind against your skin.
Night is the veil of our sins, it masks, it hides like a black marker wiping away everything before us. With hardly any light, nocturnals have to adapt and mold to their circumstances, and so do we as humans.
But unlike most, some reside within those nightly shadows, finding solace, and the dim silver light shines above.
I too prefer the darkness of the night; the stars and moon are what I too find comfort under, shying away from the blaring sun’s rays.
Author’s Note: I love writing because it's my escape from reality and my gateway into other worlds, weather it's remixing an already made story line, adding my own flare to it, or creating something new, it's something that's always there, a ready to be made escape, a story to be told from my own mind through the palm of my hands.
