Loss, a recurring theme in my life. A family of five became a family of four. My mother, left to raise her triplet daughters on her own. My father died on Christmas Eve. I had just turned six. How do you tell your children their father died on Christmas? But my mother, a martyr, made sacrifices for her daughters, even if that meant sacrificing her own dreams. She wanted us to fulfill ours. Throughout my seventeen years of life, my mother was a torchlight. I now know that loss was never the theme in my life. It was love.
