1) Pose your wooden drawing model
2) Trace your action line with your pipe cleaner
(I didnt have a pipe cleaner at home so I did it with a strp of paper)
3)Replicate the shape of your pipe cleaner on your paper with colored pencil- I drew two lines for the legs so I could better understand their positioning.
4) Section the drawn action line into 8 heads
5) Using your knowledge of basic shapes, do your best to draw the wooden model along this action line in pencil
1) Choose one of these two color harmonies from the color wheel
Analogous- Analogous groups of three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel
Monochromatic- monochromatic colors are all the colors of a single hue but different values (light and dark) Think light to dark values of a single color.
2- Draw a circle for your sphere .
3- USING OIL PASTEL- Establish your highlight with your lightest value (remember white is always the lightest highlight possible)- you can always go darker but not lighter.
Here I established my white highlight and my light medium tone
4- Continue to shade your sphere as you would in charcoal- consider your darkest value and mid tone. ***** Dont forget to either blend with a tortillion or by applying more layers of material.
5- Show your color choices labels next to your forms. Pictured here I showed my highlight color, medium tones, and my darkest color as my shadow.
Do the same for your cylinder-
1) Choose a color scheme (must be different than sphere)
2) Draw your cylinder-
3) Establish highlights with your lightest value
4-Continue to shade your cylindar as you would in charcoal- consider your darkest value and mid tone.
After viewing reference artists, choose one you would like to work in the style of.
Using this inspiration, find a photo you would like to draw for the project.
This photo can be of you, a friend, a celebrity, or any photo of a person you like. The photo must depict their full body (no portraits or cropped images).
Your reference image must depict a dynamic pose- no standing straight up photos
Once you have found a photo, please add it to the slide show for your class so Miss. Chimenti can print them out for you.
