The Project-
1) You will be submitting THREE of your best prints.
You will likely need to do way more than three, do as many as possible so you can pick from the very best.
Good prints are identical and have an even application of ink, paper is clean , and labeled properly
(Please lable your work in pencil at the bottom of your prints.)
Labeling-

2. Your three prints should be on white paper in black ink
Please wait to print with colored ink until the next step
You may not submit prints on newsprint as your final prints
3. As a MASTERY- you can will complete three additional prints either using, colored ink and or tinted/ prepped paper.
This will be worth 5 EXTRA CREDIT POINTS
You may use whatever colored ink you like, you can choose any colored paper, or you can create a drawing or watercolor design to print over
Printmaking Steps!
Add a line of ink to top of printing tray
Use the brayer to take ink and evenly roll it out in a square on your tray. Be sure that brayer is coated evenly with ink
Use brayer to now roll ink onto your printing plate, covering it evenly. Take more ink from tray as needed
Place register on paper aligned with the corner
Flip printing plate over ink down onto the paper
Flip paper and plate upside down and use hands and or burnisher to press ink into the paper
Peal paper up from one corner and voila! You've created a print :)
RUBRIC- 10 points
Three Best Prints are submitted- 3 points
Craftsmanship- Prints have even, full coverage of ink, lines are clean, paper is free of fingerprints, placement is straight- 2 points
Labeling- Each print is labled at the bottom with name, class period, and # of print- 1 point
Positive and Negative Space- Design investigates the balance between the subject, and the space around/ through it.- 2 points
Elements of art- Line, Shape, Space, and Texture are considered. - 1 point
Documentation- 1 point
