Considering the Principles of Design, we will be creating original album cover art.

Things to think about- how might the album cover represent the type of music on the album?

If your life had a soundtrack, what would the cover look like, and what songs would be on it?

Has there ever been something like a photograph, object, place, person, or scene that you thought would be interesting for an album cover?

This project will be due 10/7 by the end of class.

You may use ANY artistic medium for this project

You must fill the whole space

You may include collaged elements, but the work must still include art made by hand.

Consider how might you use the elements of art in your album. How have other artists included it in thiers?

Rubric-

*Students have freedom of subject matter within reason. No drugs, no weapons, etc. Keep it appropriate. Any work that contains these things will be given a 0.

Proficient

2 Points- Album design features two obvious Principles of Design

2 Points- Design uses the whole page

2 points- Design features artistic mediums (not just collaged photographs)

1 point- Subject matter is clearly depicted with composition considered

1 point- Craftsmanship- is your work clean? Is the paper in good condition? Did you stay inside the lines? Are there unintentional marks?

Mastery- 2 points

1 point- Back of design features additional small drawings/ aspects that connect it to the theme on the front of the album (look up examples for inspiration)

1 point- Include between 8-12 songs that would be featured on your imagined album.
