Step 1- Contour line drawing.
Look at the object infront of you. Take a second to just look before drawing, observe its contours, bends, divits, bumps, wrinkles, etc. Please take your time!!!! Its not a race.
Using your pencil, do your best to draw the object infront of you. Try your best to look at the object 80% of the time and at your paper 20%. Go slow and allow your pencil to follow your glance.
Just draw the man lines, or outlines and edges/ prominant contours of the object. See examples.
Please Label "Contour Line"
Step 2- Continuous Contour Line Drawing
You will create an additional contour line drawing, HOWEVER, you will NOT PICK UP YOUR PENCIL. The word continuous means "not ending". Your pencil line will not end until your drawing is done.
The beginning and end of your drawing should not be visable***
Please Label as "Continuous Contour"
Go slow, take your time, and no erasing! It is okay to go outside of the "lines"
Step 3 -Blind Contour Line Drawing
Draw the object infront of you WITHOUT looking at the page. You must only keep your glance on the object, the final result should be a surprise so NO CHEATING!!! :)
Please label at the top as "Blind Contour"
*** This is drawing practice, you are not being graded on how "good" or realistic your drawing is.
Step 4- Create a line drawing with your nondominant hand
Hold your drawing utensil in your nondominant hand and create a line drawing of the object infront of you.
PLEASE label this as "nondominant hand"
Step 5- Full Drawing with Shading (last one)
Create a drawing in front of you with the most detail possible. This includes all contours, creases, indents, and bumps.
Additionally, I ask that you attempt to shade this drawing with your pencil. Consider the shadows, where are they and how dark are they? The highlights? medium shades/tones? Do your best!
Please Label this "Full Drawing"
