The Applied Design, Skills and Technology Teachers

Our Programs

The ADST department runs courses in several disciplines:
Home Economics, Technology Education, and Business Education.
At Byrne we have 2 professional kitchens, carpentry and metal working workshops, a prioritized lab for robotics and coding and a textile room with traditional and contemporary tools.

Our department is also part of the Grade 8 STEAM program, which weaves science, technology education, art and math curricular competencies together.

Home Economics

We offer courses in Textiles, Baking, Foods, Catering, International Foods and Child Development.

Business Education

We offer courses in Marketing and Promotion, Entrepreneurship, Yearbook, Accounting, Tourism and Career Life Education.

Technology Education
