For the Trinity Rock and Pop exams you can choose either Playback or Improvisation. If you choose improvisation you will be given a backing track to improvise over that you haven't heard before in a specific style.
It could be for example be pop or blues.
In the exam you will be given a song chart and the track will be played on a loop. You will have two chances to perform to the track:
First time - for practice
Second time - for assessment
Please see below some tracks for you to practise along to. The improvisation may be sung on any vowel - with or without a consonant.
In the beginning of track 1 you will hear an example of a pop improvisation, which will then go into an instrumental track. Feel free to sing along to the guide vocal or come in after the example.
