Sight Reading Top tips

• When practising sight reading take 30 seconds to a minute to look through the piece.

• Don't play straight away.

• Look to see if there are any sharps of flats in the key signature (Grade 2 onwards).

• The rhythm is just as important as playing the right notes.

• If you make a mistake keep going, fluency is really important.
