a demonstration of further improving your stick technique icluding dynamics and accents.. this is clearly demonstrated in the chaal rhythm pattern
Breaks/fills are used to transition from 1 section to another., here are 3 very commonly used breaks/fills.. there's a demonstration of these in context with the chaal rhythm pattern at the end of the video
Tirakita is essentially from tabla's repertoire.. there are many variations of this used in fast patterns such as laggis or tihais.. this video contains 3 variation of this as an exercise.. although a simple pattern it does get difficult as you increase your tempo but it sounds both exciting and impressive at high speed! don't rush to play fast, take your time with the basic pattern/rudiment/exercise then increasing tempo when it begins to feel easy at the tempo your practising.. as always you should be practising with a metronome to help keep you in time and off course you can track the progress of your speed, have fun!
Some of my students playing as an ensemble
Another video of some of my students playing as an ensemble
Excellent visual display of an ensemble including dhol and other percussion instruments with dancers.. note the rhythm being played; it's the 'garba beat' at faster tempo.
Very good demonstration of rolls plus variations.. there are also some dynamic roll patterns or 'accented' rolls
