The 2010 Beecher Bobcats Cross Country Team cemented their place in Beecher history with a historic performance en route to winning the IHSA Class 1A State Championship. The Bobcats swept their way to the state meet by securing victories at the Beecher Regional and the Decatur St. Teresa Sectional.
Under the guidance of coaches Pam Deery, Ted Deery, Dan Stolzenbach, and Henry Nykaza, the team achieved remarkable success. The state meet was highlighted by the Bobcats’ impressive team score of 80, which stands as the second-lowest in Class 1A since the IHSA moved to a three-class system in 2007. The state championship was the first, and to date, only boys state championship in Beecher’s history.
