Class of 2022

The Beecher High School Athletic Hall of Fame Commission is pleased to announce Ron Speletich as a member of the 2022 Hall of Fame Class. Ron was a part of the Beecher cross country and track team all four years of high school from 1982 to 1985.

Ron was a three time Kankakee Valley Conference champion in cross country. Ron’s junior year in 1983, he was the regional champion and sectional champion in cross country. History was made when Ron won the first state title for any athlete or team in Beecher High School history when he was crowned the 1983 IHSA cross country champion. That year Ron was voted in as a member of the Northern Illinois Track and Cross Country Association All-State team.

Ron continued his running prowess his junior year in track when he finished 2nd at the IHSA state track meet in the 1600m in 1984. His senior year he also medaled at the state meet by finishing 3rd in the 1600m. In 2004, Ron was named by the Kankakee Daily-Journal as the 3rd best high school distance runner in the history of the Kankakee area.
