The Beecher Hall of Fame Commission is pleased to announce Tom Cirks as a member of the 2018 inaugural hall of fame class. Tom, a 1965 Beecher graduate, was a member of Beecher’s basketball team from 1962-1965. In 1965, Tom led the Bobcats to a 19-7 record, which at the time was the most wins in the school’s history. After high school, Tom went on to play basketball at Olney Community College and then for the Redbirds of Illinois State University. After his playing days were over, Tom coached high school basketball for 32 years at Crescent Iroquois, Clifton Central, St. Anne, and Momence. During his coaching years he accumulated 7 regional titles and 2 sectional titles. In 2002, Tom was elected to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
