The Beecher Hall of Fame Commission is pleased to announce Jenna Grim as a member of the 2018 inaugural hall of fame class. Jenna, a three sport standout, was a part of the remarkable 2007 graduating class, which was the only girls class in the school’s history to win at least a regional title in volleyball, basketball, and softball in the same school year (06-07).
Jenna was a key performer on the volleyball court during her playing career at Beecher. She was named to the River Valley Conference 1st Team All Conference three years in a row in 2004, 2005, and 2006. Her senior season in 2006 was a historic one as she helped lead the Ladycats to sectional title and a birth into the super-sectional. The only volleyball sectional title in the school’s history.
On the basketball court, Jenna was a part of an 18 win team that won a regional title as well as the River Valley Conference in 2006-2007. Jenna was named RVC player of the year as she averaged 13 points per game and also pulled down 9 rebounds per game.
There is no mistake about it, softball is where Jenna proved to be one of the elite catchers in the state as well as the nation during her time here at BHS. Jenna was named to the Illinois Coaches Association 1st team All State in 2005, 2006, and 2007. She was named Daily Journal player of the year, as well as the Northwest Times player of the year in 2007. Her junior year in 2006, Jenna was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 2nd team All American. Her senior year in 2007, she was named to the NFCA 1st team All American.
During Jenna’s 4 year softball career at Beecher she helped lead the Ladycats to a 138-9 record including 2 state championships in 2004 and in 2007. In 2007, Jenna hit .552 with 8 home runs and 58 RBIs. During the 8 game state run in 2007, Jenna hit an astounding .740 with 3 home runs and 19 RBIs.
After Jenna’s playing career at Beecher she went on to star on the Loyola University softball team. She was named to the Horizon League All Conference in 2009 and 2010. After Loyola, Jenna went on to play 4 seasons professionally for the Chicago Bandits. She also made various stops as an assistant softball coach at Loyola, Northwestern, and Butler. She currently is working for a consulting company doing web design and also continues to give private softball lessons.
