Shop Highlights: Neighborhood bakery staple with cult following, do-it-all bakery with amazing everything, fresh baked bagels with daily special varieties

Total Package Review: Scratch was recommended to us by multiple Portland locals and it stood up to the hype. They bake everything: bagels, bread, pastries, cookies, cakes, everything! Their bagel station is basic with two pre-made to-go options, one for the meat eaters and one for the veggies. No made to order sandwiches. Boo! But the bagels were really good and they used a natural leavening culture named Lulu. Their cookies were also out of this world. If they had a sandwich menu I think this shop could pull in a 10 in TPS.

Shop Ambiance: Willard Square in South Portland is a central point in the neighborhood and features Scratch. Based around a grab and go model the interior is set up with stations that you visit based on what you want and eventually you find yourself at the checkout. The bagels are on display and employees are busy baking in the back. Very warm neighborhood vibes inside.

Personal History with Shop: Anna and I tried and loved Scratch in 2022 when in Portland on our bike tour of the east coast. We stocked up on extra baked goods before biking away for a day of riding.
