Shop Highlights: One of the only bagel shops in Ireland, clever and flavor packed sandwich options, community minded outdoor space to gather and eat
Total Package Review: Okay. So Outcasts does not nake their own bagels which would normally forfeit them from a spot on this site. However, their location in the bagel desert of Ireland puts them back into contention. They get their bagels from "an authentic NY bagel bakery" in London and prepare creative and tasty sandwiches on them to order. They are located on the fringe of downtown Dublin in a box container turned kitchen. There are tables about to eat at and a little boutique thrift store in the corner. They say they are also going to build a sauna in the back for customers to use. The bagels are what you would expect out of a couple day old bagel shipped across the Irish Sea, somewhat dry and bland. But the sandwiches are where this place shines. They are all very unique with complex flavor combos you don't see every day. I tried a pulled jack fruit sandwich and while it was tasty, it wasn't my favorite sandwich. Their sandwich with eggs also has meat and its pre-mixed so I couldn't have a breakfast style sandwich as a vegetarian. Friendly owners who think they know about bagels but it seems like they know a little bit more about creating an inviting space and building sandwiches. Plus a point for being in a bagel desert.
