Here I used ADDITION. In English "engalanar" can be translated as "adorn" nonetheles, to descrive "engalana" one must add reflexive pronouns.
Here I used SECUENCE SHIFT. In Spanish the adjetives came after the noun, while English the adjective is before the noun. There is not a direct word to translate "típico" in English so we use "traditional" which means the same.
Here I used EXPLICITATION. "Minsa" refers to the "Ministerio de Salud" which is translated as "Ministry of Health" in English, but I put in parentheses the acronym to better clarification. At the end, the headline can also work with just one of the 2.
Here I used CULTURAL AND FUNTIONAL EQUICALENCES. In Spanish "golpes de calor" can refer to any enviroment that can cause it, from a car, to a house, etc, So I wanted to use "headstroke" with is the general form to say it in English, nonetheless, the news makes more emphasis of the "golpes de calor" generated by the sun so I used "sunstroke" which emphasizes direct sun exposure.
Here I used IDIOMATIC EQUIVALENCE. Firslty, I have to say that "chen chen" is a calque from English "change". Both mean money, so I used "cash" which is a semi-formal way to refer to money in large quantities.
Here I used a WORD FOR WORD translation.
amid ICE crackdown - ante la mano dura de ICE
Here I used IDIOMATIC EQUIVALENCES. The word "crackdown" means "campaña or represión" which can be used in Spanish, nonetheless, using "mano dura" is an expression that sound more natural in Panamenian headlines.
Here I used SECUENCE SHIFT.
First of all, I make an ADAPTATION of this healdline because it sounded weird in Spanish.
Surgeon ex in Ohio - Cirujano en Ohio
Here I used REDUCTION. I erased the "ex" because it made more sense next so being at the beggining too will be redundant.
dentist murders - mata a su ex y a su actual pareja
Here I used EXPANSION and EXPLICITATION. The word "dentist murder" doen't make much sense in Spanish, so I used a more explicit way to describe the victim, which were both, the ex and her actual lover.
Here I used CULTURAL EQUIVALENCE.
dodged - evadiendo
Here I used GRAMMATICAL SHIFT. I changed "dodged" which is in past tense to "evadiendo" which is in progresive tense.
Here I used REDUCTION. I eliminate this part from the headline.
Here I used SEMATIC SHIFT. I changed the position of "one body" to the beginning.
