Equity
The Pandemic has highlighted an aspect of American society which has existed since its inception: not every person is treated equally. The Black Lives Matter movement erupted spontaneously throughout the country triggered by the deaths of many African-Americans, among them George Floyd. Attacks on Asian-Americans grew as fear and anger resulting from the Pandemic was laid upon them. Latinx-Americans have long suffered the injustice of low-paying jobs and discrimination. White-Americans have felt the brunt of reverse discrimination in certain parts of society. Equity in America is a constant struggle for balance and fairness.
