Afterlight - Spring Court

History

The Spring Court was said to be founded by a powerful princess of the Day Court, who formed her own court to live a life of freedom and vibrancy. It's first city, Saorach, was brought forth from the blooming flowers and tree's of spring, buildings formed within the tree's bound together in vivid green mosses and vibrant coloured flowers. Protected by illusory mists making direction itself imperceptible to wandering travelers straying a bit too close.

Despite its vivacity, the Spring court its home to a wide variety of spirits and more supernatural races are housed alongside the joyous fae. Drawn in by the lively atmosphere and blooming life. Elemental spirits, wisps, banshees and hybrid creatures call the court home alongside the fae creatures inhabiting its reaches.

To date the Spring Court is the only court boasting a purely matriarchal hierarchy, a single matriarch ruling over the entirety of the court from the spectral throne, said to have been crafted by the first queen out of astral steel, a ghostly material of a shifting galaxy within.

Society

A place of peace and curiosity, the fae of the Spring Court are the most ‘polite’ and welcoming of the courts. Festivals and feasts to celebrate everything and nothing are a constant, as life itself is a reason to dance the days away.

Streets and homes alike are filled with vibrant colors and shimmering gemstones, the people to match. Thin, translucent silks only worn for the colour adorned with glittering gemstones and shiny metals that chime with each step are worn by the Spring fae. Skin tones vary from ebony hues to pale frosts leftover from winters grasp. Their hair carrying every hue of nature, from sunkissed brown to pale greens and ocean blue.

Fae of this court are carnal and blunt, rarely denying their baser instincts and desires. Yet the bond between mates is never meant to be broken or harmed. Once mated in the Spring Court, the human vow ‘till death do us part’ is taken in a much more literal sense. To sever the mate bond, is to forfeit your life.

Military

While known for its lively and carefree nature, the Spring courts military is feared across the continent. Not for its power, but for its cruelty. Death is a slow and agonizing one for those unlucky enough to survive the Silverleaf Artillerists, only to meet the Blooming March.

The Storm Striders

An airborne unit of soldiers who fly atop summoned or tamed beasts, ranging from giant falcons to pegesai, or even the rare wyvern.

Known for their colorful flight leathers and controlling the weather to create their ideal conditions.
Their fighting style is as chaotic and wild as the storms they bring with them, rarely repeating the same tactic twice.

The Silverleaf Artillery

A long range fighting force, delivering devastating blows to thin their enemies numbers for the Blooming March.

Their name is derived from the silver coloured platinum adorning their shoulders and arms in the shape of leaves on a vine to channel their magic.
They utilize a variety of elements, raining down magic fueled strikes from meteor showers to explosive ice lances.

The Blooming March

Sometimes referred to as the cleaners, bringing colour and nature to the battlefield as they clean up what remains after the Silverleaf attack.

Wearing masks and bound in bandages to avoid spore filled air, they appear as walking corpses traversing the battlefield with crossbows and spears.
They use nature magic to form sharp vines to control the terrain, then fill the air with the pollen and spores of certain poisonous plants they grow amidst them.
