History

Though it stands today as the capital of Brelaton, Bannhaven is one of the youngest kingdoms on the continent, having only been founded around 600 years ago. A short span by elven and dwarven standards, and a mere blink in the lifetime of Ajagar itself. Built atop the ruins of an earlier civilization that predates recorded time, the kingdom was envisioned by the early Brelatari Council as a neutral ground. A place where humans, elves, dwarves, and other sentient races could coexist and build trade relations. The name was chosen to reflect its purpose: a haven for many banners, where different people could coexist under common law.

The early years were plagued by race-based conflict, riots over governance, and faction leaders. Only through decades of carefully forged treaties and strict regulation did Bannhaven become what it is now: a semi-functional hub of tolerance, tempered by necessity and profit. Despite its founding ideals, racism and species tension still rear their heads, but Bannhaven survives by its shared ambitions: wealth, access, and opportunity.
