History

Located deep within the unforgiving expanse of the Dry Sea, Arida is a kingdom carved from sand and stolen wealth. Its origins are traced back to nomadic desert tribes who united centuries ago under a powerful warlord-turned-king, believed to have received visions of a throne beneath the dunes. That throne, now resting atop a stone-hewn palace spire, became the heart of a kingdom that rose around it.

Built atop ancient ruins and trade routes, Arida flourished as a hub of desert commerce with its spice caravans and jewel-buried oasis. But as its wealth grew, so too did its lawlessness. Today, Arida remains a kingdom in name, but its true power lies in the shadows. Though a monarch still rules from the sun-cracked throne, the kingdom is all but owned by the Vultures, a ruthless network of smugglers, slavers, and thieves that operate both in plain sight and beneath the sands.  Their coins flow in every vault.

Beneath the palace, ancient tunnels and ruins pulse with forgotten magic. Some whisper that Arida is built directly atop a buried empire, one that might yet stir again.
