Lying east of the towering Redwoods, the Diell Forest is a place of radiant beauty and sacred quiet. Diell is low-canopied, light-filled, and humming with the tranquil pulse of untouched life. Vibrant wildflowers bloom in every hue, birdsong is ceaseless through the leaves, and golden light seems to spill constantly from above, even when the sky outside the forest is overcast. It's a place where the Pulse sings in harmony, unbroken and untainted, a rare balance of raw magic and natural peace.
According to legend, the forest was not formed naturally, but shaped by the breath of Sil, the ancient dragon god of life, after the Divine Sundering. In the wake of the imprisonment of Denek, Sil vanished from the world, wounded by guilt and fear of what their powers had wrought. It's said they flew until they found a quiet place to rest, and there, with a final sigh, breathed life into the land before disappearing into it entirely. Since that day, Sil has not been seen, but their essence still thrums within the forest.
At the edge of the forest lies Ji'Amon Village, a small and devout settlement of druids, dryads, and gentlefolk who serve not just as caretakers of the woods, but as quiet stewards of Sil's will. Their homes are directly shaped from the forest, and their magic is deeply tied to the lifeforce aorund them. These villagers are known to share dreams with animals and walk barefoot to feel the Pulse beneath their feet. Visitors are welcomed, but watched carefully.
Though warm and forgiving, the forest protects itself fiercely from harm. Travelers who attempt to harm the land often find themselves lost in shifting paths, or lulled into a deep sleep from which they never awaken. The Wardens of Sil, a small but powerful sect of druids and shapeshifters, patrol the deeper parts of the forest, acting as guardians and silent judges. They answer to no nobility, only to the ancient will that still breathes within their land.
