WEEK 1
In order to understand the current status of the industry, grasp the latest industry information and understand the current activities and trends, I conducted relevant searches this week. I learned about the impact of AI on the industry and the current employment situation, and also learned about the recent animation production situation. I have a clearer understanding of the animation industry.
searched for animation events to see what I could attend to learn more about the industry and network with animators.
WEEK 2
Time planning is a very important part of an animator's work and life. Animation production often plans a time and requires animators to submit animation works within the specified time. Good time planning can better help animators to produce.
This class explains several time planning methods and also introduces some time planning related apps to help better manage time.
WEEK 3
In this class, I did some industry-related research and learned about various industries that an animator can work in and classified them.
At the same time, also did research on companies and studios in various industries to find out which companies can serve as an animator's workplace.
WEEK 4
In this class, an experienced VFX Artist gave us a speech about the VFX industry and explained the VFX-related production process.
I learned that VFX often needs to be filmed outside, combining real scenes with animations and producing them. The VFX production process has many layers and requires the cooperation of many people, from filming to animation production to post-editing and music addition to complete the production. It made me understand the VFX production process and the work of VFX Artists.
WEEK 5
The class talked about why you need a mentor, the importance of a mentor and how to find one. I tried to search on LinkedIn, but it was not very successful for me and I was still a little confused. I saw many animators, but I was still a little hesitant and couldn't decide how to ask.
In this class, I met a senior visual effects supervisor, learned more about VFX, and learned how VFX works for clients, and also learned about VFX in other countries. I also got a general understanding of the salary situation in the VFX industry and had a clearer understanding of the profession and the market.
WEEK 6
I had a Formative Review this week, and I made a preliminary decision on the animation position I would like to pursue in the future.
WEEK 7
Marcus Ayrton is a short creator who worked in The Third Floor animation studio.
Bought with amazing works and more knowledge about VFX. I have a clearer understanding of VFX work and understand the work required for VFX.
WEEK 8
Artist from Nexus Studio helped me learn more about animation studios. Nexus Studio is a studio that produces various types of animations and has produced animations for various industries.
Not only did I learn about animation work, but also got more guidance on animation:
Good showreel don't make it too long only best works
Consider relevant work for your portfolio
DRAW Always
Skills for improving as an animator and the basics you need to know.
After a few weeks of learning, I first understood the importance of Live Action Performance to animation production. Almost all animations require animators to shoot Live Action as a reference before making animations. Good Live Action is also very helpful for animation production, and can better produce the required animation.
I also gained a better understanding of the basic professional qualities and email communication required of an animator.

LinkedIn is a website for finding and posting jobs, and this is my first time using it. Herecan see the specific job requirements posted by various countries and industries, as well as everyone's published works and daily life. It is a very suitable website for finding jobs and mentors.
After registering my LinkedIn account, I made some simple edits to my personal homepage. Since I had never worked in anime-related fields, there was not much I could fill in. I filled in all the information I could and made preliminary preparations for finding a mentor.
When I was looking for a mentor on LinkedIn, I had Alessandro Camporota in mind. He is a lead animator at Riots Games and his specialties has character animator. I have a great interest in game animation and hope to work in animation in the game industry in the future.
Another reason is he has also been a mentor to others and has mentor experience, so the animation mentor I initially looked for who is not a school teacher was this person.
Backup mentor brief
Ryan Vicik is also a Gameplay Animator, and he has experienced as a mentor before. He has not only produced gameplay animations, but also VFX, and can provide guidance in different fields.
