A self-reflective evaluation statement that discusses my views on work and final submission
I have learned a lot about animation production this semester, mainly focusing on the movements of the human body and learning more about animation production techniques and methods.
I learned several techniques about animation and gained a clearer understanding of the process and methods of animation. Every step of the production is step-by-step, from spline and blocked to polished, each step will make the animation more perfect. For me, blocking is a very useful animation production technique. It helps me improve the efficiency of production and the accuracy of animation, and allows me to make better animation works.
I also learned that when doing animations, I need to refer to references carefully and pay attention to every detail. Sometimes I ignore some of the natural movements of the human body, causing the animations I make to look a little uncoordinated and unnatural. To solve this problem, I need to pay more attention to daily observation and observation of human movements when making animations.
I benefited a lot from learning about walk cycle and making animations. The first is every detail about the most basic production frame of the walk cycle, the timeline and the natural swing of the lifting and closing movements that need to be paid attention to. The second is the relaxation of the steps when walking and the feeling of looseness when walking. These small details took me a long time to think about and make to make the walk cycle look more natural.
I also need to improve my control and attention to details when making animations. I often only achieve some general outlines but fail to perfect the details. The polish has not been completely polished, and the animation still appears to be slightly flawed. It requires more in-depth production of the movements and small details of each frame.
Generally speaking, what I learned this semester is greater than my animation problems. I understand the animation production process and methods more clearly, and I also understand how important it is to have a good reference for animation production. There may not seem to be many details in the animation, but when I make it, I find that there are countless of them. Extracting the most important details from these details for production and polishing is the fundamental reason why I need to improve. I also need to work harder and practice using Maya to make my animation better.Â
