Technical for Developing Practice
I did body exercises for both men and women.
During the exercise, I decomposed and composed the human torso, and also sketch some relationships between shapes and the human body.
The outline of the male torso will be sharper, mainly in the shape of an inverted triangle. The female torso is softer and has an triangle shape.
I also found that the human body is mainly composed of various muscles and bones. With this understanding during practice, I can sketch human body better.
After learning about shapes and the human body, I started creating characters about shapes. I have a lot of fun putting different shapes together to get different characters.
Just changing the position of the shape in the human body can produce completely different character results, which gave me a deeper understanding and mastery of character creation.
I am very interested in tattoos, so when I have time, I will study tattoos in tattoo studio.
Tattooing is very demanding on the tattoo artist's skills and the smoothness of the lines.
I can improve my drawing skills very well while studying. I have learned a lot of things in the process of constantly studying tattoos.
Human skin is made up of three layers of tissue, namely the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The tattoo needs to Pierce the epidermal layer and the bottom of the dermis top, which needs to make sure the tattoo needle not too deep and not too shallow. Too deep will cause accretion, while too light will not paint.
The depth of skin piercing needs to be mastered gradually during practice. This process of mastering makes me feel very new, like learning to paint from scratch. Even though I've been painting for nearly 11 of my 18 years, when I first started learning to tattoo I felt like someone who had never held a paintbrush for more than a few days.
The tattoo will vibrate continuously, and the tattoo artist needs to find the frequency of this vibration and Pierce the tattoo at a regular rate. This feeling of looking for rules reminds me of the feeling of looking for the motion track of animation, exploring and learning bit by bit. Tattoo should be uniform, not too fast, not too slow. I was always too fast or too slow at first and my tattoo practice didn't look good, but it gradually improved with slow practice.
Tattoos come in many styles, realistic, cartoon, traditional, simple... Each has its own characteristics, just as animators find their own style. There are many styles, but the one that suits you is the best. In the process of learning, I found that I was more interested in simple cartoon, and did a good job, so I mainly focused on this aspect to create.
I have a small tattoo on the inside of my left arm. It from one of my favorite character in game Baldur's gate. The tattoo didn't feel as painful as I had expected, just like a knife slicing through my skin. I always thought tattooing was a very romantic and special thing, like using skin as paper to paint an eternal painting.
The process of sketch practice is also an eternal. It's a skill I'll never forget.
