A self-reflective evaluation statement that discusses my views on work and final submission
After nine weeks of studying Animation Fundamentals, I learned a lot of knowledge and skills. Most of this knowledge is relatively new to me, and I find it very interesting during the learning process.
3D animation is my first contact with the field. Different from 2D animation, 3D animation requires the ability to use software flexibly and understand the movement trajectory. At the beginning, I learned the basics of animation and movement knowledge, which was very helpful for my subsequent studies. All works are created based on these two foundations.
After gradually learning 12 animation basics in depth and practicing simple character movements and postures, I felt that it was not easy, but at the same time it was very interesting and I enjoyed the learning process. When working on the six character poses, I repeatedly compared the model's action pictures and then edited the model on Maya. This process helped me gradually master the action poses and structure of the human body.
The subsequent studies will mainly revolve around Bouncing Ball. Bouncing ball is undoubtedly the basis of animation. Every movement of an object can be regarded as a bouncing ball for animation creation. The motion trajectory of the bouncing ball is clear but not simple. After repeated practice and study, I roughly mastered it. The feeling of creating a bouncing ball by myself is very different from that of following a tutorial. I feel very satisfied when I apply the knowledge I have learned, but at the same time, I feel annoyed when I don’t know how to do it well.
When learning Maya, sometimes I feel unable to adjust the graph editor, but I feel happy when I get the desired results after repeated attempts. Maya is a completely new software to me. I have never used it before, so every time I learn it, it is my first introduction. Gradually becoming proficient in using Maya has improved my learning efficiency and work completion, and made me less entangled and troubled when making.
The foundation and movement of animation are inseparable from daily observation and learning. In my subsequent studies, I can further improve my basic animation knowledge and application skills, always remember the 12 basic animation knowledge and apply them in animation works. I can also improve my ability to use Maya, and explore other Maya functions that I have not learned or understand, and use them in my future animation works. At the same time, I still need to work harder on my daily observations. Understanding basic sports knowledge is an indispensable part of animation. Only when you understand things can you create.
In future study and creation, I will first observe the movement methods and trajectories of things themselves, and then create animations. This helps me make better works, and also makes my works look less rigid and more flexible. I will also keep the 12 basics of animation in mind every time I do it, and apply them to make my animations more engaging.
Learning the basics of animation is very important and indispensable. In the future study, I will continue to apply the knowledge I learned in my works and do it well.
