March 2 - 6 was Read Across America Week. Many of us know this week as Dr. Seuss' birthday week. Wilson Schools had guest readers during morning assembly, a Read-In in pajamas, spirit days for the whole school, and a collection of reading minutes from students and the community. Congrats to all our students who participated and the fantastic teachers who made this wonderful week possible.
The 8th grade class has started a fundraiser for Jaide Lawson. Jaide is undergoing treatment for Ewing's Sarcoma at Children's Mercy in Kansas City. Jaide is from Russell. The 8th graders are holding a 5K walk on Friday, March 13 to raise funds for Team Jaide. These funds will help defray costs for the family for travel, meals, etc. as they support Jaide during this traumatic time. Please join us in supporting the 8th graders in their fundraising efforts on Friday, March 13th. The 5K will be held rain or shine at 1PM. If weather permits, participants will walk the track. If it is cold or raining, walkers will complete their 5K indoors.
Only a few days remain until Spring Break! Teachers and students are looking forward to this longer break. The 4th quarter will go quickly and everyone will need to be rested!
Have a great week...
