Five brave ladies from the Wilson FFA chapter stepped out of their comfort zones and took part in the North Central District Creed, Public Speaking, and Job Interview LDEs on January 29th. Freshman Grace Bohnen and Kylee Larsen gave the FFA Creed and Cara Criswell presented a speech she wrote over P.E.T.A. Juniors Bryna Hill and Kami Thrasher both participated in the Job Interview LDE which consists of submitting a resume and cover letter. As well as filling out a job application and go through a mock interview. Ms. Laack is very proud of these ladies for trying something new, even if it was way out of their comfort zones.
To end their unit over Kansas and researching some famous Kansans, the fourth grade visited the Eisenhower Museum in Abilene, Kansas to learn about our 34th president's life and the impact he made on our country.
Fifteen students from the 4th - 8th grades represented Wilson schools at the county spelling bee. Aiden Watts spelled his way to a 1st place win by spelling the word rudiments correctly. Claire Schiermeyer also received a 4th place medal!
Blake Mermis took his musical skills and travelled to NPL League Band this week. Blake plays the trombone in the WHS Band and loves to play in pep band and in concerts. Mr. Shawn Shipley conducts the music program at Wilson Schools.
