Happy Reddddddd Friiiiidaaaay!!!

Not trying to take away from the traditional Friday-game-day-Purple at Wilson Schools, but we have joined others in the Midwest to show our Kansas City Chiefs Kingdom Spirit! When it hasn't happened in the life of most of students' parents, things like the Chiefs in the Super Bowl is a big deal!

Showing our Chiefs Spirit certainly was not the only thing going on this week though. From the County Spelling Bee to 100th day of school activities to JH League basketball tournament, and everything in between, the Dragons have been a busy bunch!

Thank you to all of our Wilson Dragon followers for their support of our students.

Super Bowl Spirit Week

Students and staff at Wilson Schools had fun supporting the Kansas City Chiefs in this week leading up to the LIV Super Bowl Thanks to Brad Schiermeyer for the drone picture, Officer Tipton and community members for joining us at the Egg!

The WHS Junior Class is offering the Wilson community an opportunity to have red roses delivered to their Valentines on February 14!

This is a fundraiser to help the class with their expenses for the 2020 Prom and any expenses that may occur during their senior year.

100 Days Celebrations

Kindergarten

This week the kindergarteners celebrated the 100th day of school. Among other things they used 100 cups to build structures.

1st & 2nd Grade

First and second grade have been busy! Second graders are learning how to publish a final draft on the computer. We are practicing our cooperative learning skills with a STEM kit building bridges. Our hundred day of school was celebrated with new crowns, collections of a hundred and the first grade recorded 100 words they CAN spell!

Third Grade

The third graders were busy this week!!!

Mrs. Bushell and her third graders attended Smoky Hill Museum. They churned butter, packed a wagon, learned prairie games, and shelled corn.

The third graders used QR codes to do research on the Kansas state symbols for Kansas Day!

5th Grade

The 5th grade class on the 100th day of school making a cup structure.

6th Grade

Sixth graders have the opportunity to participate in two electives this semester: Woods and FACS. Students are working on a project about stress in FACS taught by Terina Templeton. Woods is taught by Ron Major. They are discussing shop safety.

Ellsworth County Spelling Bee

Aiden Watts, Wilson Junior High School 8th grade student won the Ellsworth County Spelling Bee. Five junior high students from Wilson made the trip to Ellsworth. Aiden is the first one in recent history from Wilson to win the County Spelling Bee.

Aiden will complete in the Kansas State Spelling Bee at Newman University in March.

Wilson Jr High Dragons get 2nd place in the Twin Lakes League Basketball Tournament!!

Wilson Jr High Lady Dragons win the Twin Lakes League 2020 Championship!!
