Adjustment of Deadlines in Connection with the 2025 Midterm Election: Deadline of Completion of Requirements - 16 May 2025
Transfer of Credits (TOC) is when the units you have earned in your previous undergraduate program in your previous university/college are credited to your AA program.
In this case, it is important to be aware of the policy on the Crediting of Courses / TOC:
For Undergraduate Students
For UP Transferees
Courses taken in another UP unit or program may be credited provided the content of these courses is equivalent to that of courses required for the UPOU program.
Courses to be credited should not exceed 50% of the total number of units required for the UPOU program (for AA, this means 36 units or 12 courses).
For Non-UP Transferees
Courses taken in another university may be credited provided the content of these courses is equivalent to that of courses required for the UPOU program.
Courses to be credited should not exceed 50% of the total number of units required for the UPOU program (for AA, this means 36 units or 12 courses).
The student must take and pass a validation examination for every academic course for which transfer of credit is being sought. A validation examination can be taken only once. Validation exams will be scheduled as follows:
(a) before the first semester for first semester courses; and
(b) before the second semester for all other courses.
*Non-academic courses such as NSTP (of all types, such as CWTS, ROTC, or LTS) and PE courses are automatically approved for TOC. These units are not included in the 50% unit cap.
Remember that you should only apply for transfer of credit for courses (both academic and non-academic) that are equivalent in content to courses required in the AA program.
Accomplished Application Form for Transfer of Credits;
Photocopy of Transcript of Records.
Step 1: Submit/Email the accomplished form and a photocopy of transcript of records to the Faculty of Study (FEd, FICS, or FMDS). For FEd, you must email fed@upou.edu.ph and fed-fsecsupport@upou.edu.ph.
Step 2: Wait for an email from the Faculty of Study for updates. If taking of a validation exam is required, the student must coordinate with the Faculty of Study for the examination schedule details.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
While you are applying for TOC and waiting for the results of your application, it is best for you not to enroll first in the courses you have applied for TOC. This is to avoid the forfeiture of your TOC application.
You cannot apply for TOC before being admitted to the AA program. Do note that you can only apply for TOC once you are officially admitted to the AA program and only within your first year in the program.
UPDATE: As the UPOU OUR is now implementing the process of applying for TOC through the AIMS Student Portal, kindly note that the information on this page is subject to change soon.
